• Human remains connected to 1988 Florida cold case identified nearly 40 years later (wfla.com) — Human remains found off County Road 905 in North Key Largo back in 1988 have finally been identified as 61-year-old Miami resident Alfonso James Spikes. Investigators still don’t know how he ended up in North Key Largo, and the case remains open as a probable homicide, with detectives asking anyone with information to come forward.
