Pace Center for Girls Palm Beach to Host Annual 'Believing in Girls Empowerment Luncheon' Presented by Palm Harbor Marina to Celebrate 30 Years of Blooming Futures on November 10, 2026 (thecoastalstar.com) — Palm Beach County residents are invited to a November 10 empowerment luncheon at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach celebrating 30 years of Pace Center for Girls Palm Beach. The ticketed event will feature a floral-themed program, alumnae "Seeds to Success" panel, and highlights of how Pace's free academic and counseling services have helped more than 2,000 local girls.
   

2. $10K reward offered as authorities search for man accused of shooting community cats in Palm Beach County (local10.com) — Authorities are asking Palm Beach County residents to help identify a man caught on surveillance video behind the Sunshine Flea Market, suspected of shooting community cats and leaving one so badly injured it needed a leg amputated. A $10,000 reward is now offered, and animal advocates urge anyone who recognizes the bicyclist with a headlamp and possible gun to contact the sheriff's Animal Crimes Unit immediately.
   

3. Gas prices rise in Florida. When could drivers see relief? (wpbf.com) — Palm Beach County drivers are paying the highest gas prices in the area, averaging about $4.43 per gallon, slightly above neighboring Treasure Coast counties. A AAA spokesperson says the ongoing conflict in Iran is driving oil price volatility, making it hard to predict when relief will come. In the meantime, residents are urged to shop around, maintain their vehicles, and use rewards programs to cut costs.
   

4. Florida wildlife sanctuary swamped after 9 inches of rain, residents say drainage calls unanswered (thecooldown.com) — Heavy rain dumped nine inches on western Palm Beach County, flooding homes near Royal Palm Beach and swamping the Palm Beach Wildlife Conservation sanctuary, damaging equipment and delaying its planned grand opening. Residents say drainage calls to the Indian Trail Improvement District went unanswered, while the district insists it monitored canals and pumps and is still working to move water out of the area.
   

5. Sesame Street puppeteer comes to Palm Beach County to share her story (bradenton.com) — Palm Beach County's Literacy Coalition recently hosted Sesame Street puppeteer Megan Piphus Baptist at the West Palm Beach Marriott for its annual Mayors Luncheon, where her book was announced for the countywide Read for the Record event on February 25. During her visit, she shared her journey to Sesame Street, read to local children, and helped spotlight the county's push to get more kids reading.
