• As new school year begins, Miami-Dade and Broward officials worry over declining enrollment, further closures (wsvn.com) — Broward County’s school-closure plan now includes Plantation Middle School, as shrinking enrollment and lost funding push both Broward and Miami-Dade districts to consolidate campuses before classes start next week. Families are being reassigned to other schools, sometimes farther away but with more programs, while officials warn additional closures could come if enrollment keeps falling.
