Ron DeSantis’ proposed homestead exemption hike, forcing the village to nearly double its millage rate just to maintain services. Local officials warn this “tax cut” would actually shift costs onto renters and businesses and could push smaller, nearby towns toward insolvency, while wealthier coastal communities feel little pain.
