3 Sarasota Restaurants Recognized By Michelin Guide FL

A NOLA-inspired Sarasota eatery made the Bib Gourmand list, while an artisan sandwich shop and a pizzeria are now Michelin-recommended.

SARASOTA, FL — Three Sarasota restaurants were honored by Michelin Guide Florida during Thursday’s ceremony announcing the 2026 selections.

In total, two new Florida restaurants were awarded Michelin stars, while 10 earned the Bib Gourmand distinction and 38 were named Michelin-recommended eateries.

The Michelin Guide launched in Florida in 2022 as a partnership with Visit Florida and initially focused on Miami, Orlando and Tampa. Last year, it expanded to include the greater Fort Lauderdale area, the Palm Beaches, and the St. Petersburg-Clearwater area.

In Sarasota, the New Orleans-inspired Lucky 8 earned the coveted Bib Gourmand distinction, which recognizes restaurants that offer great food at a great value.

“WE MADE THE LIST! We are beyond humbled and grateful to announce that Lucky 8 has been named to the Michelin Guide Florida’s Most Affordable Restaurants (Bib Gourmand) 2026, and we are proud to be the only restaurant in Sarasota to receive this honor,” the restaurant’s owners wrote in a social media post.

Located at 1812 S. Osprey Ave., Lucky 8 offers a modern take on New Orleans classics with a menu that includes staples like chicken and sausage gumbo, crispy boudin, crawfish etouffee and po’boys.

“The spirit of New Orleans is alive and well in Sarasota’s Southside Village. Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant draws inspiration from a range of Cajun and Creole classics. Chicken and andouille sausage gumbo with pickled banana peppers is a comforting effort, as is the barbecue shrimp with superb French bread. Crispy suckling pig with herbs dressed in nuoc cham honors Louisiana’s Vietnamese community. The colorful dining room leans kitschy and vintage and is run by a friendly team that’s always happy to help,” according to the restaurant’s Michelin Guide listing.

Two Sarasota eateries, Focaccia Sandwich + Bakery and Tralia, were among the newly recommended Florida restaurants.

“So incredible to be recognized by [Michelin Guide Florida.] Truly so proud of this team that works so hard and pours so much into what they do to bring joy to others through their craft. Beyond grateful for our team, our guests, and especially everyone that helped get our doors opened a little over [two] years ago. What a ride it’s been. All the glory to God. Thank you so much,” the owners of Focaccia wrote in a social media post.

The sandwich shop and bakery at 2300 Bee Ridge Road offers full focaccia loaves, breakfast offerings and focaccia sandwiches.

“The team rises before the crack of dawn every day to fire up the ovens and make trays of gorgeous, fluffy rounds of focaccia. From buffalo chicken with green goddess to prime rib with smoked horseradish cream, this bread serves as the base for satisfying, hulking sandwiches that are finely constructed and come in half portions for those with more petite appetites. The simple operation has a few outdoor tables along with counter seats at the edge of the kitchen, which also turns out fine soups and salads,” the shop’s Michelin Guide listing said.

Tralia’s team also celebrated the news in a social media post, writing, “What an incredible and surreal honor to be selected by [Michelin Guide] for the beautiful state of Florida. We are excited to continue to serve our community and the broader global food scene, doing what we do best.”

The pizzeria, located at 6566 Gateway Ave., is known for its sourdough pizza.

“Find one of the city’s best pizzas buried in an assuming strip center. The team uses a sourdough base for two very different results: Artisan round is crispy and crackly, while Detroit square has the rise of a layer cake and the fluffiness and lightness of a cloud. Both eat as well as they look; the MVP featuring marinara and dueling vodka and pesto sauces is a winner. Though the menu offers a number of apps and sandwiches, a satisfying Caesar salad blanketed in parmesan and black garlic breadcrumbs is all you need before diving into the main event,” according to the Michelin Guide.
