Fatal I-75 Crash Claims Life Of 18-Year-Old Parrish Woman: FL Troopers

A Parrish woman, 18, was thrown from her SUV after it hit a concrete barrier and overturned on I-75 in Sarasota County, FL troopers said.

SARASOTA, FL — An 18-year-old Parrish woman was killed in a Thursday night crash on northbound Interstate 75 in Sarasota County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The crash happened just after 10 p.m. near mile marker 208, between Bee Ridge Road and Fruitville Road.

The woman was driving a 2003 Ford Escape north in the center lane of the highway when she tried to change lanes and lost control of her vehicle, troopers said.

She hit the concrete traffic barrier, and the impact redirected her SUV, causing it to overturn several times.

She was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said.
