• A local ecosystem transforms into a living field laboratory for USF students (usf.edu) — USF students are teaming up with Siesta Key Chapel to restore the chapel’s hurricane-damaged five-acre maritime hammock, turning it into a long-term living field lab on the island. Over at least 10 years, students and volunteers will remove invasives, plant natives, and monitor recovery, with locals invited to get involved and follow progress through regular presentations to the congregation.
