Downtown St. Pete Restaurant, Bar Closing After 13 Years

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — After 13 years, a downtown St. Petersburg staple is closing its doors for good.

The Avenue, a burger bar at 330 1st Ave. S., will hold its “last call” on Saturday night, starting at 7 p.m., according to the eatery’s Facebook page.

“After 13 incredible years, The Avenue is closing its doors. But before we say goodbye, we’re throwing one last unforgettable party to celebrate the memories, friendships, and good times that made this place so special,” the owners wrote in a Facebook post.

Saturday night’s event will be a chance for people to “raise a glass, share stories, and send [the Avenue] off the right way — with live music, legendary vibes, and one final toast,” the post said.

“From game days to epic parties, this place has been home to some of St. Pete’s best moments. Let’s make this farewell one for the books. One last round, St. Pete — see you there!”

The Avenue, which offers 55 televisions, two bars and a full food menu, is owned by Stephen Schrutt of the Hunger Thirst Group.
