Man Died After Being Hit By Car While Crossing Street: St. Pete Police
A St. Petersburg man died at the hospital after being hit by a car while crossing 4th Street South, police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg man died after being hit by a car while crossing 4th Street South Sunday night, authorities said.
Larry Darnell Brown, 61, was crossing from east to west in the street’s 1700 block when he walked into the path of a Kia K4 sedan just after 9 p.m., St. Petersburg police said in a news release.
He wasn’t walking in a marked crosswalk at the time he was hit by the car.

Brown was brought to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died at the hospital early Monday morning, police said.
The driver, who was uninjured, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which is ongoing.
