- Why are you seeking this office?
I got tired of complaining about things not getting done or the wrong decisions being made by our elected officials. I'm not a career politician but want to truly make positive changes in our Pinellas County. I want to “Build a Better Pinellas, a Better Future” for me, my family and my community. It's time for a positive change.
- What sets you apart from the other candidates seeking this post?
I work as a licensed State of Florida Architect and Interior Designer as well as nine other U.S. states. I have the experience when dealing with planning and zoning departments across the country, and have experience with community design, zoning, and land-use planning. I have a lot to say about how Pinellas County should be developed in the next 5, 10, 20, and 50 years into the future.
- What issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
- Increasing our property rolls/densities in select areas without increasing taxes. This will bring additional revenue into Pinellas County.
- Increasing our tourism to bring in more visitors into Pinellas County. This will bring additional revenue into Pinellas County.
- Reinvestment of these increased revenues to improve infrastructure, build affordable housing, increases to community programs, investment to increase public transit use, parks & recreation, libraries, and more.
- What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I’ve always been a “Take Charge” kind of person in everything that I have done. When I walk into a room, many people just assume I’m the one in charge. It must be a positive sense of leadership that I give off. I can’t walk into a Target store wearing a red shirt without someone thinking I’m the store manager.
- What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
When your opponent is making mistakes, don’t stop them or get in their way. (..and my opponent is making them quite often.)
- Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I’ve lived in Pinellas County 26 years. I truly want to make a positive difference in Pinellas County. That’s why I want to “Build a Better Pinellas, a Better Future!” for all Pinellas County Residents and improve our quality of life to enjoy. Let’s get some of those almost 30,000 people that have left Pinellas County over the last 8 years under the current County Commissioners due to the unaffordability issue in this County. I’m sure there are some, but how can someone argue with that?
