St. Pete Man Shone Laser At Sheriff’s Office Helicopter: PCSO
A St. Petersburg man was arrested for shining a laser light at an airborne Pinellas County Sheriff's Office helicopter, the agency said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg man was arrested after shining a laser at a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office helicopter on Tuesday night, the agency said.
James Mock, 71, was charged with felony misuse of a laser lighting device.
When the helicopter was airborne in the area of 38th Avenue North just before 9 p.m., the flight deputies were struck by a green laser light in their cockpit, the sheriff’s office said.

Flight deputies were able to locate the suspect at a 29th Avenue North home, giving patrol deputies the address.
The patrol deputies went to his home and arrested him. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
