• Man arrested after woman lost $300K in fake U.S. Marshal fraud scheme, BSO says (nbcmiami.com) — Broward Sheriff’s Office’s Tamarac District is investigating a scam that cost a 75-year-old woman more than $300,000 after a caller posed as a U.S. Marshal and convinced her to convert savings into gold. Deputies arrested a 21-year-old suspect tied to the exchanges and are urging anyone who may have encountered a similar scheme to contact BSO at 954-720-2225.
   

• Abandoned French Bulldog Finds Safe Haven Thanks to Tamarac Firefighters, Local Rescue (tamaractalk.com) — Tamarac firefighters at Station 36 stepped in after a couple abandoned a French bulldog there, quickly partnering with local nonprofit Groovy4Good and UFAR Animals Rescue in Margate to secure his care. Now named Blaze, the dog will receive full veterinary treatment and be readied for adoption, as Mayor Michelle Gomez praises the teamwork that gave him a second chance.
