• Middleboro native, former police officer honored (theweektoday.com) — A former Treasure Island police officer, John Remedis, is being honored this month as the Lights for Peace flag flies in his memory at a Massachusetts military museum. The decorated Vietnam veteran and longtime law enforcement officer also served departments in Middleboro and Madeira Beach and was widely known for his veterans’ advocacy and community service.
