• Prosecutors want Florida woman's immunity from murder trial overturned (tcpalm.com) — Prosecutors are asking an appeals court to reinstate murder charges against Vero Beach real estate agent Donna Lavonne Smith, nearly a year after a judge granted her stand‑your‑ground immunity in a 2024 office shooting. The case, involving a boyfriend killed at her Vero Beach workplace, could clarify how much evidence defendants must present at immunity hearings and may take months to resolve. 
• Exhibit Center will re-open July 4th (indianriverguardian.com) — Vero Beach residents can step inside the restored Vero Train Station Exhibit Center on July 4 for a special Independence Day opening, followed by a formal rededication on July 9. The Indian River County Historical Society invites the community to explore railroad history, see preservation work up close, and celebrate one of the area’s earliest National Register landmarks.
