• Threatened Florida scrub jays counted, cared for in Indian River County (tcpalm.com) — Wildlife biologists and volunteers recently banded young Florida scrub jays in the Wabasso Scrub Conservation Area, tracking one of Florida’s most threatened native birds right in your backyard. Their work helps monitor 35 jay families across six Indian River County conservation sites, using colored leg bands to study survival and protect this unique species for the long term.
