Acworth officers honored for saving mother stabbed at Chick-fil-A (fox5atlanta.com) — Two Acworth police officers were honored at a recent Board of Aldermen meeting for saving a woman who staggered into a local Chick-fil-A on Highway 92 after being stabbed multiple times. While off duty and waiting to order, they quickly applied a tourniquet, called for help, and helped stabilize her before she was taken to Kennestone Hospital and later released.
   

2. Cobb County Adds 40 New Business Licenses (cobbcountycourier.com) — Several new business licenses in unincorporated Cobb County include companies listing Acworth mailing addresses, highlighting fresh activity in construction, services, and retail nearby. Residents may notice new contractors, precious-metals dealers, and service providers operating around town as these businesses ramp up operations following approvals issued between September 27 and October 4.
   

3. Scarecrow invasions in North Georgia: Your 2026 guide (fox5atlanta.com) — Acworth residents can enjoy a small but festive scarecrow display along Main Street as part of a broader wave of scarecrow events across North Georgia this October. Man convicted of attempted rape in Cherokee County (fultonneighbor.com) — A man has been convicted of attempting to rape a woman near Highway 92 by I-75, in an area described as near Acworth, after a 2024 assault as she walked between local businesses. Jurors needed less than an hour to reach the guilty verdict, and sentencing is scheduled for October 6, underscoring ongoing public-safety concerns for residents who travel that corridor.
