• Georgia murder sentencing: mother begs for missing daughter's body location (shorenewsnetwork.com) — An Albany mother pleaded in a Dougherty County courtroom for information about where her missing daughter’s body was, as the man convicted in the killing received life without parole. Jurors found Ryan Cooper guilty of murdering Lacambria Toomer, who was last seen in Albany in August 2022, but investigators still have not located her remains. 
• Georgia Gas Prices fall Again (wnegradio.com) — Albany drivers are currently paying about $3.57 per gallon for regular gas, making the city one of the cheapest metro areas in Georgia to fill up. Statewide prices have dipped to an average of $3.76, with AAA warning that global oil uncertainty could still push prices higher in coming weeks.
• Robocalls are spiking — especially for phone numbers with these area codes (kdvr.com) — Phone numbers in Albany’s 229 area code saw one of the nation’s biggest spikes in robocalls in July, with more than 32 million calls logged. Many were likely scam loan offers, so residents are urged to let unknown numbers go to voicemail and contact banks or utilities only using trusted phone numbers.
