I-285 S Crash Injures Driver On July 4 Eve In Cobb

The driver lost control of the car, causing it to swerve and hit a tree on I-285, Cobb County Police said.

ATLANTA, GA —Police say a a driver was injured in a crash after their car swerved off of the road and hit a tree around 2:45 a.m. Friday on I-285.

The crash happened on I-285 south before Paces Ferry Road, Cobb County Police said Friday.

The driver was operating a 2015 Fiat 500 when they lost control of the car and swerved to the right side of the interstate, police said.

The Flat hit a tree and uncontrollably came to a rest off the roadway, police said.

The driver, who was not identified, was seriously injured and was taken to a local hospital, police said. Their status was not immediately available Monday.
