• Atlanta Botanical Garden plans $160M Beltline expansion, direct access by 2028 (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Atlanta residents will soon get direct Beltline access to the Atlanta Botanical Garden through a $160 million expansion planned along Piedmont Avenue and the Northeast Corridor, targeted for completion by 2028. The project adds a Beltline plaza with free programming, a new visitor center with bike parking, and more immersive garden space, which frequent Beltline users say will enhance walkable, environmentally conscious public space in the city.
   

• 18 dogs saved from euthanasia at DeKalb County shelter; dozens still at risk (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Atlanta-area animal advocates saved 18 DeKalb County dogs from imminent euthanasia, but 72 dogs in DeKalb and Fulton shelters are still at risk as facilities remain packed. LifeLine Animal Project is urgently calling on Atlanta residents to adopt or foster, noting many surrendered dogs are well-behaved pets whose owners struggled financially. Free dog adoptions are offered every Tuesday.
   

• ACCA Presents Parren J. Mitchell Crusader Award to Rodney K. Strong (geneonline.com) — Atlanta just hosted a major milestone for the American Contract Compliance Association, where attorney Rodney K. Strong received the Parren J. Mitchell Crusader Award. The honor recognized his long-term work expanding fair access to government and private-sector contracts, highlighting Atlanta's role in national conversations about equitable procurement and economic opportunity.
