• Destination Augusta touts Savannah River city as tourism destination in Brookhaven (roughdraftatlanta.com) — Brookhaven residents recently got a close-up look at what Augusta is offering travelers, as Destination Augusta hosted a three-hour open house at Brookhaven City Centre's Murphey Candler Room. The showcase highlighted Augusta's coming $275 million arena, golf options, and cultural attractions, while also drawing comparisons to Explore Brookhaven's own tourism efforts and the city's role in Georgia's travel economy. 
• 7-year-old battling sickle cell gets life-changing transplant from his brother (wsbtv.com) — A young boy recovering from a bone marrow transplant has been able to stay close to his family thanks to a transplant suite at the Ronald McDonald House in Brookhaven. The specialized rooms, created in partnership with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, offer filtered air, a kitchen, and laundry so families can safely remain together while children heal and prepare to return to school and friends.
