• U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Establishes Scheduled Operations to Improve Chattahoochee River Water Quality (army.mil) — Operations at Buford Dam are being adjusted to boost dissolved oxygen levels in the Chattahoochee River without changing Lake Lanier's overall water releases, which matters for local trout, recreation, and river health. The new schedule blends turbine and aerated sluice-gate flows and was developed with years of studies and input from Georgia wildlife officials and the nearby Buford Trout Hatchery.
   

• Fall Follow List: Must Follow 2028's (prepbaseballreport.com) — Several Buford High School baseball players, including Isaiah Steward, John Jang, Jackson Walker, and Walker Taulbee, have been named among Georgia's must-follow 2028 prospects after strong fall performances at LakePoint.
