Lightning Hits Cherokee Home
Firefighters responded to a home in Cherokee County after it was hit by lightning during morning storms, they say.
WALESKA, GA — Lightning struck a home during early morning storms Tuesday in the Lake Arrowhead community, fire officials said.
The lightning hit around 7:30 a.m. When first responders arrived, they smelled smoke coming from the home's attic, according to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
Firefighters ensured no one was inside the home and located the source of the odor, fire officials said.

No one was injured during the incident, the department stated.
