4. West Nile infections rise statewide, one death reported (decaturish.com) — Mosquitoes carrying West Nile virus have been detected in parts of North Decatur and nearby Brookhaven, prompting health officials to urge residents to take extra precautions. With mosquito season lasting through October, Decatur-area neighbors are advised to use EPA-approved repellents, wear long sleeves, and regularly dump standing water around homes to reduce local breeding sites.
   

5. Green Space sculpture on display inside Hastings Public Library (kgfw.com) — A Nebraska library's new bronze sculpture is part of a series that also includes a piece dedicated in Decatur by former First Lady Rosalynn Carter.   • Like Harry Potter, he has a very magical protective mark on his neck (I'll put a pic in 💬👇) that makes him look both extremely special and also maybe like a frat boy who came home from spring break with a regrettable tattoo.
