2 Officers, Suspect Injured In DeKalb Police Shooting
The suspect remains in custody at a hospital but will taken to the DeKalb County Jail upon release, state authorities say.
EAST ATLANTA, GA — Two police officers who responded to a domestic incident were injured in a shooting that also injured a suspect Sunday evening in East Atlanta, DeKalb County Police said.
The shooting happened when three officers responded to the incident between 26-year-old Atlanta resident Demontavious Soho and another person around 6:15 p.m. in the 2000 block of Bouldercrest Road, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Monday. The incident took place at an apartment complex.
The officers met with Soho in an apartment building, where they spoke with him, the GBI said.

During the conversation, police and the GBI said Soho shot at the officers, hitting two of them. Police said the officers shot back, hitting Soho.
Soho then fled the scene and into a wood line, but was later found suffering from a gunshot wound by Atlanta Police, the GBI and DeKalb Police said.

The officers were taken to a local hospital and are in stable condition, the GBI said. They are expected to survive, police said.
Soho remains in custody at a hospital but will taken to the DeKalb County Jail upon release, the GBI said. He will be charged with aggravated assault against a peace officer, the GBI said.
"We are asking for everyone’s prayers for our officers during this time," police said in a news release.
The GBI will conduct an independent investigation. Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be turned over to the DeKalb Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for review.
