Nearby counties including DeKalb, Clayton, and Cobb are also offering designated cooling sites, free rides, and extended hours to help people stay safe in the extreme heat.
   

• Man found shot to death inside Tucker home, Gwinnett County police say (cbsnews.com) — Gwinnett County police are investigating a deadly shooting inside a Tucker home off Lawrenceville Highway and say it appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing public threat. Detectives are reviewing surveillance video, have not released the victim's name, and are asking anyone with information to contact Gwinnett investigators or Crime Stoppers with anonymous tips.
