Kennesaw State Expands On-Campus Residential Housing with the Opening of The Summit II (metroatlantaceo.com) — Kennesaw State University has opened The Summit II, a 462-bed residence hall in the heart of the Kennesaw campus that will house first-year students starting this fall. Designed around community, wellness, and identity, the new building adds study spaces, a courtyard, and views of Kennesaw Mountain, while highlighting KSU alumni who helped design and construct the project.
   

2. Questions remain following Town Center Mall shooting (theksusentinel.com) — An officer-involved shooting at Town Center at Cobb's parking lot in Kennesaw left 25-year-old Cortez Eatmon dead after an alleged shoplifting incident and chase on May 27. State investigators and the Cobb County District Attorney are still reviewing what happened, while autopsy details, witness accounts, and family concerns keep community questions about the use of force very much alive.
   

3. Preview: 'Branches Etched Across the Sky' at KSU leans into the power of Black imagination (artsatl.org) — Kennesaw residents can catch "Branches Etched Across the Sky" at Kennesaw State's Onyx Theatre from October 6–11, exploring grief, Black imagination, and healing through art. Directed by KSU professor Marlon Andrew Burnley, the production features student performers and rich projection design, offering a thoughtful, locally staged look at creativity, trauma, and young Black protagonists.
   

4. Kennesaw State researcher receives NIH grant to study sleep apnea (newswise.com) — A Kennesaw State University researcher has secured a $235,520 NIH grant to use AI analysis of snoring sounds to better diagnose and treat obstructive sleep apnea. The project could eventually help local physicians choose less invasive, more effective therapies, reducing trial-and-error treatment, costs, and long-term health risks for patients in Kennesaw and beyond.
   

5. B2B Branding (ama.org) — Several Kennesaw State University professors are guest-editing a special issue on B2B branding for the Journal of Product & Brand Management, with submissions opening in December 2026. Their call invites researchers worldwide to explore how business brands navigate digital transformation, AI, sustainability, and tight marketing budgets, highlighting Kennesaw's growing influence in global marketing scholarship.
