Cobb issues 57 new business licenses over the past week (cobbcountycourier.com) — Several new businesses tied to Kennesaw addresses just received Cobb County licenses, including a vending company on Bells Ferry Road, a lighting showroom on Cobb Parkway, and a hotel at Town Center. The full list spans 57 licenses countywide, but Kennesaw residents may especially notice new services, retail options, and hospitality offerings opening nearby.
   

2. Cobb County honors 9/11 victims with over 2k American flags (wsbtv.com) — A powerful 9/11 Field of Flags display is now covering Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, with one flag honoring each of the 2,977 lives lost. Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services joined residents for a remembrance walk, and officials are inviting Kennesaw-area families to visit the moving tribute, which remains on display through September 19 to quietly reflect and remember.

Win-Tech CEO Allison Giddens argues the change would flood federal contracting with larger firms, making it harder for truly small manufacturers in places like Kennesaw to compete for already-limited set-aside opportunities.
   

4. Experts warn of 'pink slime' tactics from new Georgia news websites (roughdraftatlanta.com) — A Kennesaw State University journalism professor is helping spotlight how new Georgia news sites mix real reporting with partisan messaging, a tactic researchers dub "pink slime." Their work warns that these outlets, active ahead of key elections, can mislead readers by wrapping political persuasion in what looks like neutral local news.
