Bodycam video shows the confused motorist answering "Gwinnett" when asked his location and "daytime" when asked the time, before a beer can reportedly fell from his pocket and he was arrested, prompting officers to stress the dangers of impaired driving.
   

3. Atlanta-based CDC issues health advisory amid rising rabies cases (971theriver.com) — Recent rabies cases in Lawrenceville have prompted a new CDC health advisory urging residents to vaccinate pets, avoid contact with sick wildlife, and seek immediate care after bites or scratches. Officials say animal rabies activity and human exposures are rising nationwide, and they recommend eliminating outdoor feeding stations and securing trash to reduce risks locally.
   

4. Lawrenceburg grad cast as lead role in 'Hairspray' in Atlanta (812noww.com) — A Lawrenceburg native is starring as Tracy Turnblad in an October production of "Hairspray" at the Lawrenceville Arts Center, giving local theater fans a chance to see a Broadway-style show close to home. Lawrenceville man, 24, gets life sentence for fatally shooting acquaintance 2023 gun dispute (ocgnews.com) — A 24-year-old Lawrenceville man has been sentenced to life in prison plus five years for killing an acquaintance during a 2023 gun dispute, according to Gwinnett prosecutors. Jurors saw video of the Norcross hotel parking lot shooting and heard testimony that the victim was unarmed, as officials stressed the severe consequences of gun violence in Gwinnett County communities.
