2. Gwinnett woman, 52, gets life sentence in cold case drug deal stabbing murder (ocgnews.com) — A woman has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2019 stabbing death of a man last seen at his Lawrenceville home, after investigators linked her to the scene. Lawrenceville police and Gwinnett County authorities also tied her to a separate 2022 stabbing in the city, helping cold case detectives secure the conviction.
   

3. Life sentence for Norcross man in assassination-style shooting, stood over victim firing six times (ocgnews.com) — A Lawrenceville jury has sentenced a 22-year-old Norcross man to life in prison plus five years for a 2024 assassination-style shooting behind a Jimmy Carter Boulevard gas station. Gwinnett County prosecutors say video evidence and a later confession helped secure convictions for malice murder and related charges, and they hope the verdict brings some solace to the victim's family.
   

4. HAIRSPRAY to Open at Lawrenceville Arts Center via Pretty as a Penny Productions (broadwayworld.com) — Lawrenceville theater fans can look forward to a high-energy production of Hairspray at the Lawrenceville Arts Center from October 2–24, 2026. Pretty as a Penny Productions' debut show features a diverse cast and creative team, promising upbeat music, big dance numbers, and themes of inclusion and body positivity, all while aiming to make uplifting performing arts more accessible to the community.
   

5. 4 Georgia men arrested in 'Operation Vigilant' child predator sting (wsbtv.com) — A Lawrenceville man is among four north Georgia suspects arrested in a Hall County undercover child exploitation sting, where investigators posed online as minors. The men allegedly arranged paid sexual encounters with people they believed were underage and were taken into custody at meeting spots around South Hall County.
