UPDATE: Search For 'Armed And Dangerous' Murder Suspect Underway In Cobb, Police Say
Police are searching for the suspect accused of pointing a gun at an officer near a busy Cobb County road.

COBB COUNTY, GA — Police are searching for a murder suspect accused of pointing a gun at an officer Tuesday afternoon in the area of Leland and Windy Hill roads, Cobb County officials said.
The suspect was identified as Damian Strozier, 31, Cobb County Police said in an update.

Officers responded to the area around 1 p.m. to locate Strozier, who police say is the subject of an outstanding murder warrant.
Strozier pointed a gun at an officer, who then fired his service weapon, police said. Strozier then ran from the scene, and a be-on-the-lookout was issued, police said.

"He should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see this individual, do not approach. Call 911 immediately," police said in an update.
No officers were injured during the incident, Cobb County Police said.
There was a "significant law enforcement" presence in the area. Photos released by CCPD show deputies with the Cobb County Sheriff's Office at the scene.
"Avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Anyone who observes suspicious persons or activity in the area of Leland Road and Windy Hill Road, please call Cobb County 911," police said.
