• Jefferson Subway shooting leaves 1 dead; 2 suspects jailed (onlineathens.com) — Two men from Pendergrass have been charged with murder after a deadly shooting Tuesday afternoon at a Subway restaurant in nearby Jefferson, where a 23-year-old Jefferson man was killed. Investigators say the suspects had earlier tried to contact the victim in Commerce before the shooting, and they were later arrested in DeKalb County and remain jailed without bond.
