1. Roswell city council asking court to begin tax collection (appenmedia.com) — Roswell's City Council has authorized a potential court petition so the city can start collecting property taxes on time if Fulton County's delayed digest isn't ready, protecting payroll and services. Council members also accepted Roswell Arts Festival donations for upgrades at Liberty Square Park, East Roswell Dog Park, and the Crabapple performing arts studio, and advanced lighting and arts projects citywide.
   

2. Roswell pond improvements 90% complete, ribbon cutting set (appenmedia.com) — Roswell residents will soon get their Roswell Area Park Pond back, with a ribbon-cutting set for Sept. 10 as the $3.1 million upgrade nears completion. The city rebuilt the embankment, improved stormwater capacity, added native landscaping and turtle habitats, and is asking visitors to hold off on fishing while the ecosystem and fish population recover.
   

3. Georgia lawmaker seeks balance between Flock camera benefits, misuse (fox5atlanta.com) — Roswell's state Sen. John Albers is helping lead a Georgia task force to tighten rules on Flock license plate readers while preserving their crime-fighting benefits. He's responding to recent misuse cases, including a Hall County firing, and pushing for safeguards instead of an outright ban to protect both privacy and public safety.
   

4. Valdosta ATH Marquis Fennell Among Top Performers in Week 1 of 2026 Georgia High School Football Season (itgnext.com) — Roswell High edge rusher Jaxon Holly made ITG Next's Week 1 top-performers list after a game-changing 67-yard pick-six, plus five tackles and a sack. The roundup highlights standout efforts from players across Georgia, underscoring how Roswell talent stacks up statewide.
