Metro Savannah Employment Reaches All-Time High as Labor Force and Jobs Grow in August (savannahceo.com) — If you live or work in the Savannah area, the job market is historically strong right now, with employment and total jobs hitting all-time highs in August. The metro labor force keeps growing, unemployment remains under 3 percent, and initial jobless claims have fallen, signaling continued momentum for workers and local businesses across the region.
   

2. Healthy Savannah announces major grant (wsav.com) — Savannah residents could see better access to healthy, affordable food after Healthy Savannah and the Savannah Chatham Food Policy Council secured $110,000 from a city-awarded grant. The funding, tied to a 2025 Nutrition Access program, will support community gardens, local retailers, and tools like the free Sifter app to help shoppers match groceries to their dietary needs.
   

3. Sept. 25 – State Board of Education approves increase in Student Enrollment for Montessori School (savannahbusinessjournal.com) — Families in Savannah should know the State Board of Education has approved raising Coastal Empire Montessori Charter School's enrollment cap from 237 to 271 students, correcting a contract error. Backed by the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education, the change expands local access to Montessori education at the Buckhalter Road campus while keeping the school under standard state and federal accountability rules.
   

4. Sept. 25 – Savannah celebrates Heritage Place Apartments renovation, Rededication Ceremony (savannahbusinessjournal.com) — Heritage Place Apartments in Savannah's historic Cuyler-Brownville neighborhood just completed a $24 million renovation, preserving 88 affordable units for at least another 30 years. Backed by Savannah's Affordable Housing Fund and state tax credits, the project upgraded historic Charity Hospital and Florance Street School buildings with new roofs, interiors, and infrastructure, underscoring City Council's ongoing focus on affordable housing.
   

5. IVECCS 2026 Shatters Records in Savannah (tradeshowexecutive.com) — Savannah just hosted its largest convention ever when the IVECCS 2026 veterinary symposium brought more than 5,500 attendees to the newly expanded Savannah Convention Center. The event tested the center's added exhibit space, boosted traffic for local ferries and shuttles, and showcased Savannah's growing ability to attract large trade shows that can feed the local hospitality economy.
