Hospice Savannah launches Georgia Care Innovators in Savannah (wjcl.com) — Families in Savannah who rely on Hospice Savannah will now see its services united under a new umbrella identity called Georgia Care Innovators. The change brings eight nonprofit programs together—from hospice and palliative care to caregiver support, grief counseling, mobility, and aging-in-place initiatives—while keeping Hospice Savannah's name, mission, and care teams in place for local patients.
   

2. Labor Day weekend patrols target impaired driving (wsav.com) — Expect a strong Georgia State Patrol presence on Savannah-area roads this Labor Day weekend, with DUI task force "Nighthawks" watching closely for signs of impaired or distracted driving. Troopers will be targeting lane violations, missing headlights, and cellphone use from Friday 6 p.m. through midnight Monday to keep local roads safer.
   

3. American Airlines to connect Savannah travelers to Europe, Asia with new summer 2027 routes (wtoc.com) — If you fly out of Savannah/Hilton Head International, American Airlines is adding easier one-stop connections to Europe and Asia in its summer 2027 schedule. Routes through Charlotte, Philadelphia, and Chicago will link local travelers to cities like Vienna, Porto, and Reykjavik, with tickets available starting August 31 via the airline's website and app.
   

4. Bethesda reflects on 'statement' win over Savannah Christian during open week (wsav.com) — Bethesda's football team in Savannah is savoring a dramatic 32-28 win over Savannah Christian, sealed by a late touchdown pass with 26 seconds left. Players say the victory proves they can compete with GHSA programs, as they head into an open week before hosting Trinity Collegiate on Sept. 11.
   

5. Hyundai Targets 5.55 Million Sales by 2030, Santa Fe EREV Arrives in 2027 (greencars.com) — Hyundai's massive 2030 growth plan includes building its next wave of Ioniq 5 robotaxis at the Metaplant near Savannah, tying the region to future driverless services. The company also detailed new extended-range EVs, faster-charging batteries, and advanced driver-assistance tech that could shape vehicles sold across the U.S. over the next several years.
