The funding boosts mobile pantries, home delivery, and especially the Stone Mountain center, which helps provide healthy food in areas where local resources don't meet the needs of food-insecure residents across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
   

• Two former Fort Pierce boys fatally shot in Georgia on Sept. 20 (hometownnewstc.com) — Residents near Stone Mountain should know that two boys, recently relocated from Florida, were fatally shot and two women wounded at an apartment complex off North Hairston Road on Sept. 20. DeKalb County Police have arrested an 18-year-old suspect, say the shooting followed an earlier dispute, and note that the investigation continues while the family and community raise funds for funeral expenses.
   

• Longtime Tucker Summit CID president Morsberger resigning (decaturish.com) — Commercial areas near Stone Mountain will soon see new leadership as longtime Tucker Summit CID president Emory Morsberger steps down at year's end after 15 years guiding improvements along Mountain Industrial Boulevard and nearby corridors. His tenure brought upgraded roads, lighting, landscaping, and security, and several major projects affecting local traffic and safety will continue while the district searches for his successor.
