• Rep. Clyde Honors Winton Machine Company as Special Georgian of the Ninth (house.gov) — A Suwanee-based manufacturer, Winton Machine Company, has been honored by Rep. Andrew Clyde as a "Special Georgian of the Ninth" after being named one of just five national finalists in the SBA's Freedom 250 Patriot Pitch competition. The company will compete in Washington, D.C., on September 18 for a share of $1 million in prize funding, highlighting Suwanee's role in advanced American manufacturing and skilled local jobs.
   

• Meet the Gwinnett County teachers of the year for 2028 (thegeorgiasun.com) — Suwanee readers can cheer on Julia Hernandez, a fifth-grade teacher at Suwanee Elementary, who's been named her school's Teacher of the Year in Gwinnett County's 2028 awards cycle. She's one of more than 150 educators districtwide now in the running for county-level honors, with semifinalists chosen this fall and top winners celebrated at a January 2027 banquet.
