The victim, previously described by Suwanee police as 16, was lured through social media to sell a handgun when the robbery turned deadly. Another defendant has already received life, and a third suspect is still awaiting trial.

Your dog's dead': Officer confronts dog owner (wsbtv.com) — Suwanee residents should know that local police recently arrested a man after a pug died while chained outside in about 90-degree heat, one of two similar Gwinnett animal-cruelty cases in a week. Officers say county rules require owners to stay outside with tethered dogs, provide shelter and water, and avoid extreme heat. A Suwanee police captain compared the responsibility for pets' safety to caring for children.

Hansel and Gretel bakery cafe — Korean-American Owner Resigns After Racial Profiling Backlash (koreadaily.com) — A racial-profiling incident at the Hansel and Gretel bakery cafe in Suwanee, where a Black customer was repeatedly told to leave despite saying he'd purchased food, has sparked widespread backlash online. The franchise has issued a public apology, announced that the local owner will step down, and changed policies so customers can use the cafe without ordering, echoing reforms seen after similar national cases.
