• Driver sentenced to life after dragging police officer during traffic stop (wsbtv.com) — A Carroll County man has been sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years after a Villa Rica traffic stop turned violent, leaving a local officer dragged by a fleeing vehicle. Prosecutors say Officer Victoria Hamilton was nearly pushed from the moving car as the driver reached for a loaded gun, but she managed to escape and help secure his conviction. Villa Rica police and the district attorney are publicly praising her courage.
