1. Lane closures scheduled for Wilder Avenue starting Sept. 21 (khon2.com) — Honolulu drivers who use Wilder Avenue through Makiki should prepare for weekday lane closures between Dole and Spencer streets starting Monday, Sept. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The city's Department of Facility Maintenance says pavement repairs will run through March 19, 2027, with some driveway access temporarily restricted and a contractor available to field questions.
   

2. Motorcyclist hospitalized in serious Waianae hit-and-run crash (khon2.com) — Honolulu police are asking Waianae residents for help identifying a driver who fled a serious hit-and-run that left a 28-year-old motorcyclist hospitalized on Lualualeni Homestead Road. The rider, who wasn't wearing a helmet, crashed into a fence while trying to avoid the car, and investigators are still determining whether speed or substances were involved.
   

3. Honolulu firefighters extinguish brush fire in Moanalua area (kitv.com) — Honolulu firefighters quickly contained two separate brush fires Saturday, one above Tripler Army Medical Center in Moanalua and another late at night in Kalaeloa, with no injuries or structure damage reported. Crews used a helicopter to reach and extinguish a small smoldering fire on Red Hill Ridge, and investigators are still working to determine the cause.
   

4. 19-year-old man arrested for allegedly recording woman in Honolulu massage room (kitv.com) — Honolulu police arrested a 19-year-old man accused of secretly filming a woman inside a private massage room Sunday morning, after she seized his phone and called officers. In a separate case, police are investigating an apparent stabbing at Heeia Kea Pier that left a 60-year-old man hospitalized with multiple puncture wounds.
   

5. Rainbow Wahine fall to UCLA in five-set showdown (hawaiinewsnow.com) — Honolulu volleyball fans saw the Rainbow Wahine's seven-match winning streak snapped after a tight five-set loss to UCLA in the Lucky Aces Invitational finale. Despite the disappointment, players and coach Joshua Walker highlighted strong nonconference progress as UH now turns its focus to opening Mountain West play at home Friday against New Mexico.
