Shark, box jellyfish alerts issued for Oahu beaches (staradvertiser.com) — Honolulu Ocean Safety is warning beachgoers today after an 8- to 10-foot tiger shark was spotted at Haleiwa Alii Beach Park and box jellyfish appeared along Ala Moana and Waikiki beaches. Signs are posted, and residents are urged to check with lifeguards for current conditions and call 911 immediately in an emergency or shark encounter.

New Boos & Brews event coming to Honolulu Zoo (khon2.com) — Families in Honolulu can look forward to a new Boos & Brews Halloween night at the Honolulu Zoo on October 24, featuring trick-or-treating, costume contests, games, and live music.
