Certified technicians and Kauaʻi police officers will be on-site to inspect installations, answer safety questions, and demonstrate proper use, with no appointment required.

2. Kauai Community College ‘Ohana Night is free! (thegardenisland.com subscription) — Lihue residents considering Kauai Community College can get free, one-stop enrollment help at the 6th annual ʻOhana Night on Tuesday at the campus Learning Resource Center. From FAFSA assistance and class planning to TB testing, campus tours, and free food, the evening is designed to welcome students and their families into the KCC community before fall semester.

3. Man charged in fatal shooting after Kaua'i manhunt (khon2.com) — From Lihue, authorities report that a man has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and firearms offenses after a days-long manhunt that affected Hanalei, Kīlauea, and Kapaʻa. Police say he was arrested near Kapaʻa Public Library following a search that prompted evacuations and lockdowns, and the investigation continues with additional charges expected.

4. Hawaii Children's Theatre announces summer lineup (thegardenisland.com subscription) — Lihue families can look forward to Hawaii Children’s Theatre’s Summer Stars shows at Kauai Community College and the After Dark production of “Be More Chill” at Puhi Theatrical Warehouse starting in mid-July. Youth performers and HCT alumni will headline these all-ages and PG-13 productions, with tickets already available online for residents planning their summer entertainment.

Red Raider baseball tops KIF All-Stars (thegardenisland.com subscription) — Lihue readers can celebrate Kauai High School’s Red Raiders after the Kauai Interscholastic Federation named senior pitcher Kaden Itamura Pitcher of the Year and coach Spencer Yates Coach of the Year. The Central Pacific Bank KIF champions also placed multiple players across infield, outfield, and catcher spots on the Baseball All-Stars list.
