1. Boise Man Pleads Guilty To Insider Trading (bigcountrynewsconnection.com) — A Boise resident has pleaded guilty to federal securities fraud after using confidential information from an Idaho company executive to profit nearly $50,000 on a stock trade. The 52-year-old faces up to 20 years in prison when sentenced in December. Federal prosecutors and postal inspectors in Idaho handled the investigation and charges.
   

2. Idaho Humane Society's See Spot Walk event set for Oct. 3 (idahopress.com) — Boise dog lovers can join the Idaho Humane Society's See Spot Walk on Oct. 3 at Julia Davis Park, supporting lifesaving care for local animals. The one-mile walk along the Boise River Greenbelt raises funds for medical treatment and shelter, with registration fees and donations helping pets like Freya, who recovered from severe neglect thanks to community support.
   

3. Head-On Collision with One Fatality in Boise County (idaho.gov) — A head-on collision on State Highway 21 east of Lowman Saturday afternoon left one Caldwell woman dead and sent three others, including a Boise driver and juvenile passenger, to local hospitals by air ambulance. The crash blocked the highway for about five hours, and Idaho State Police continue to investigate what caused the Lexus to cross lanes.
   

4. Boise State welcomes collegiate cross-country gamers for Blue Turf Invitational (kivitv.com) — Boise State's Esports Arena just hosted the Blue Turf Invitational, drawing about 40 collegiate gamers from 13 schools to compete in person in Boise. Players from Idaho schools and national programs praised Boise State's strong esports reputation and the rare chance to meet long-time online rivals face-to-face while building connections in a growing collegiate gaming community.
