Boise's World Trade Center Memorial sees upgrades ahead of 25th anniversary (boisedev.com) — Upgrades are now complete at Boise's World Trade Center Memorial in Idaho Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park on Shoreline Drive, with new landscaping, lighting, and better accessibility. City officials and the Boise Fire Department helped refresh the 10‑foot steel beam from the towers and surrounding features, offering residents a renewed space to reflect ahead of the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
   

2. Boise's Latino Fest returns this weekend (idahonews.com) — Boise's Latino Fest returns this Saturday, starting with a 3:30 p.m. parade from City Hall to Cecil D. Andrus Park, where the main celebration runs until 10 p.m. Families can enjoy food trucks, vendors, dance performances, and live music while exploring the rich diversity of Idaho's growing Latino communities from across Latin America.
   

3. 8 Idaho Teens Turn Their Viral Summer Account Into a Mission to Clean Up the Boise River (howzitkohala.com) — A group of Treasure Valley teens turned their popular 208 Boys Instagram account into a mission to haul trash from the Boise River they use all summer. Led in part by a lifelong Boise resident, they now return daily to clean up cans and debris, urging floaters to pack out their garbage and protect the river they all share.
   

4. "This is unique": Native plants take root at new Park at Expo Idaho ahead of October opening (kivitv.com) — A major new 50-acre park is taking shape at Expo Idaho along the Boise River, with nearly a million native plants going in before its October 23 opening. The county-backed project will offer trails, a nature playground, skate and roller derby areas, and a food truck plaza while restoring riverfront habitat, all without using local property tax dollars.
   

5. Boise State opens season at No. 2 Oregon, aiming for upset behind stout defense (idahonews.com) — Boise fans can watch Boise State open its football season Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS2, visiting No. 2 Oregon in a major early test. Coaches and analysts say the Broncos' chances hinge on containing Ducks quarterback Dante Moore and letting veteran QB Maddux Madsen play freely, relying on the program's road-tested culture to chase a big upset.
