• What happens when the farm next door goes ā€˜way over the line'? Eagle finds out (idahostatesman.com) — Neighbors in Eagle’s Crossley Park subdivision are pressing the Eagle City Council to rein in a crowded cattle operation they say brings flies, dust, odors, and late-night noise to their backyards. The pasture, on A-R zoned land near Eagle Island State Park, has far more livestock than some residents believe is compatible, prompting petitions and renewed calls for city enforcement.

• PHOTOS: Fire crews rescue cow that fell into irrigation box (abc4.com) — Firefighters in Eagle used specialized rigging and pulleys Wednesday to safely lift a trapped cow out of an irrigation box, showcasing the technical rescue skills of local crews. Multiple Eagle fire units, Eagle Police, Ada County paramedics, and Meridian firefighters responded, and the animal walked away uninjured after the unusual call.

• Idaho passes one-time funding for mental health program (nwpb.org) — Idaho lawmakers have approved about $10 million in settlement funds to temporarily restore the ACT mental health program and peer support through June 2027, after its defunding was followed by several patient deaths. Eagle’s Rep. Josh Tanner backed the move as a cost-saving measure, while providers in Boise and across the state scramble to rehire staff and reconnect with vulnerable patients who lost services.
