• Trial Date Set For Suspect in 2021 Michael Vaughan Disappearance (liteonline.com) — Fruitland residents now have a trial date in the long-running Michael Vaughan case, with suspect Stacey Wondra set for jury trial starting September 14, 2026 in Payette County. After a judge found enough evidence to proceed, Wondra pleaded not guilty to charges tied to the 2021 disappearance of the 5-year-old Fruitland boy.

• Oregon man arrested for reckless driving in Payette County (ktvb.com) — Fruitland police first tried to stop an Oregon driver for reckless driving Thursday morning before the chase shifted into Payette, briefly locking down Payette Primary School. Deputies ultimately stopped the vehicle outside the Payette County Courthouse, arrested the driver, and booked him on felony charges related to failing to yield and aggravated assault on an officer.
