• Boardwalk Apartments get approval to streamline commercial tenant approvals, despite former tenants and neighbor opposition (ktvb.com) — Garden City’s Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a blanket conditional use permit for the Boardwalk Apartments, letting many types of businesses move into its riverfront retail spaces more quickly. Neighbors and former tenants objected, citing parking worries, fairness to other developers, and ongoing legal disputes with the property owner, but city staff emphasized that building, fire, and other approvals are still required and the permit can be revoked if parking becomes a nuisance.
