Fire Damages Apartment Balcony at Lewiston Complex, Residents Rescued (dailyfly.com) — Firefighters in Lewiston quickly contained a balcony fire Wednesday at the Turnberry Apartments on Magnolia Street, rescuing residents and limiting damage to one unit. Lewiston fire and police crews assisted multiple people, including a wheelchair user, and two officers were checked for smoke inhalation. The cause is still under investigation, and the Red Cross is helping displaced tenants.

2. KLEW broadcast returns to satellite services after problems ... (lmtribune.com) — Satellite viewers around Lewiston can once again watch KLEW after a circuit failure briefly cut the station’s feed to satellite services. Engineers for new owner Rincon Broadcasting traced and restored the problem Tuesday, while over-the-air antenna viewers were able to keep watching throughout the outage. The fix returns normal access for local satellite subscribers.

3. Community theater: It's summer musical time (lmtribune.com) — Lewiston Civic Theatre is kicking off its annual summer musical Friday with a lively production of “Mamma Mia!” for valley audiences. The show follows Sophie’s search for her father against a sunny Greek Island backdrop, packed with ABBA hits and an interactive, dance-friendly finale that director Larry Goodwin hopes will get Lewiston-Clarkston Valley crowds on their feet.

Blast from the Past / 1955: A family picnic in the park (lmtribune.com) — A nostalgic family snapshot from the 1950s shows the Bull family enjoying elk burgers and Cragmont soda at Laird Park, east of Harvard.
