Parents say the St. Vincent de Paul and USDA program not only saves money but also helps kids socialize and build friendships over the summer. 
• Officials say Idaho could face significant fire season (idahopress.com) — State leaders warn Idaho, including Mountain Home, could face a tough wildfire season after a May 26 brush fire in town burned multiple homes and injured six officers during evacuations. With drought, low snowpack, and tight suppression funds, officials urge residents to be extremely careful with campfires, vehicles, and any activity that might spark another destructive blaze.
• U.S. Navy led cleanup of jets that crashed near Mountain Home. What did it cost? (idahostatesman.com) — Cleanup of the Navy jet collision near Mountain Home Air Force Base has already cost about $2 million, on top of at least $136 million in aircraft losses. Crews removed wreckage and hazardous materials and rebuilt 370 feet of Grand View Road, which has now reopened after nearly a monthlong closure and wildfire damage.

- Idaho Power is set to come out to our fire station on Thursday 6/18 at 7pm to give a presentation and Q & A about their Public Safety Power Shutoff Program for fire mitigation and how it will affect our community.
