• Fire marshal rules on cause of fire off I-84 near Payette (idahopress.com) — Investigators have ruled that the May 28 fire near I-84 in Payette County was intentionally set, starting in a discarded pile of plastic drip tape before wind drove it across nearly 100 acres. No homes were lost, but the blaze forced brief evacuations and closures, and the state fire marshal is urging anyone who saw suspicious activity near milepost 15 that afternoon to call the arson tip line.
