Current 2025 licenses expire June 1, and late fees start after June 30, so residents are urged to license cats and dogs early and take advantage of the discount.

KIND Conservatory to hold Candlelight Gala at Stephens Performing Arts Center (idahostatejournal.com) — Pocatello families can look forward to the Candlelight Gala at ISU’s Stephens Performing Arts Center on Friday, May 15, supporting the GEMS Piano Competition for young Idaho pianists. Pocatello High School speech and debate team to screen documentary as national tournament fundraiser (idahostatejournal.com) — Pocatello residents are invited to support Pocatello High School’s national-qualifying speech and debate team at a screening of the documentary “SPEAK” on April 22 at ISU’s Bengal Theater. Tickets help cover the roughly $27,000 needed for students’ travel to nationals, and attendees can stay afterward for a Q&A with the local competitors.

4. New details released about semi crash near Pocatello that left man dead (eastidahonews.com) — Traffic on northbound I-15 near Pocatello is disrupted after a semi-truck crash at mile marker 63 left a 63-year-old Utah man dead and closed the right lane. Idaho State Police and Bannock County agencies are still investigating, and drivers are urged to slow down, watch for emergency crews, and check 511.idaho.gov for updates while the lane remains blocked.
